Cookies and similar storage
A cookie is a small value a website asks a browser to store and return. Similar technologies include session storage, which keeps a small value for the current browser session. These technologies can be essential to a requested feature or used for optional purposes such as analytics and advertising.

The cookie is set only when you visit a form that requires session security. It is configured as Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Because it is necessary to secure a service you request, consent is not ordinarily required under cookie rules that recognise a strictly necessary exemption.
3. Location permission
Coordinates are not saved in browser storage
Your coordinates are supplied by the browser only after its permission prompt and are used in the current finder request. The Directory does not place them in a cookie, local storage or session storage. See the Privacy Policy for how the finder request is handled.
4. Third-party resources
Network requests are not necessarily cookies
The site may request mapping tiles from OpenStreetMap, fonts from Google Fonts and static mapping-library files from UNPKG. Those providers receive ordinary connection information such as IP address and browser headers when a resource loads. School profile pages may request current Google Places information through our own server; clicking a Google Maps or school link takes you to that provider’s separate site.
We do not instruct these services to create an advertising profile for the Directory. Their independent privacy terms govern their systems: Google Privacy Policy and OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
5. Your controls
Browser and device choices
You can delete or block cookies and session storage through browser settings. Blocking csnm_session may prevent the correction or contact forms from passing their security check. Location access can be allowed, denied or withdrawn through browser or device permissions without preventing manual directory searches.
6. Future advertising or analytics
Consent controls come before activation
If non-essential analytics, advertising cookies, pixels or comparable tracking technologies are added, we will update this inventory and implement an appropriate consent and preference mechanism before those technologies are activated for visitors in jurisdictions where consent is required. Advertising cookies will not be described as “strictly necessary.”
